As I may have mentioned, I am hair OBSESSED; I am working towards my NVQ level 3 in hairdressing and I’m already a licensed hair extension technician so I like to think I know a thing or two when it comes to weave! I have also worn hair extensions since the age of twelve because sadly, I suffer with anxiety and stress related alopecia. So in my short little life I’ve tried them all, from sew-ins to clip-ins, from micro-links to full wigs; if it’s out there I’ve already got it! So I thought, seeing as I am a huge fan of Beauty Works hair pieces already but have not yet had a set of their clip-ins I should take the plunge. Three weeks ago I went ahead and ordered my first set of Beauty Works clip-ins and I have been testing them out ever since in order to give you lovelies a fair and honest review and here it is…
I ordered Deluxe clip-ins, 18 inches in colour 18/22- bohemian, in total the set weighs 140 grams; a perfect weight for a full head.
I paid £117 for the set and I purchased them from very.co.uk (great for those on a budget as you can pay in monthly sums interest free!)
The extensions were packed in a large rectangular box which I thought was much nicer than the plastic envelope-type packaging most extensions come in. Once I removed the box the hair was perfectly packaged and it was obvious it had been handled with care, the wefts were secured to the top of a piece of rectangular card inside the box with gold string. This is what they looked like as I opened the box…
The hair is double-wefted meaning it is lovely and thick, it also helps to minimize the need for loads of uncomfortable clips all around your head. All Beauty Works human hair is cuticle correct meaning the hair is smooth, shiny and lasts a long time. The Deluxe clip-ins come on three separate wefts meaning they are very comfortable to wear and don’t provide the itchiness of multiple clip extension sets. The hair is thick from root to tip and it is obvious the extensions are of a very high quality. No negatives so far whatsoever.
Here’s a little look at a before and after of my hair…
My natural hair is just below shoulder length and I have an ombre below my ears, above that I have a few balayaged pieces to create a root drag look
After- Long and luscious locks, here I have styled my natural hair off my face for a friend’s Birthday, the extensions are incredibly easy to style
All in all I am extremely impressed with my Beauty Works extensions, I have no reason to try another brand as this set is by far the best I have ever owned. I have easily styled my hair into a ponytail using these extensions as there are so few clips, I have worn them in multiple different styles using hair products and heat styling and the hair has retained it’s shine and smoothness.
